This policy explains what personal data the Telecom Hire mobile application
(com.telecomhire.partner) collects from freelance technicians and engineers who use it to
find and carry out telecom field work, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can have it
deleted.
The data controller is TELECOM Technologies & Innovations Private Limited (CIN U63122WB2025PTC279262), 16/11/1/B Swamiji Road, Bangasree Pally, Kolkata 700060, West Bengal, India. In this policy "we", "us" and "our" mean that company; "you" means the person using the app.
1. What we collect
| Category | What, specifically | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Mobile number, name, father's and mother's name, email address, date of joining, profile photograph. | To create your account, verify who you are, and let site operators know who is arriving on site. |
| Government identifiers (KYC) | Aadhaar number, PAN, uploaded images of those documents, a selfie, and where required a police-verification certificate. | Telecom sites are access-controlled infrastructure. Operators require verified identity before anyone is allowed on site, and we are contractually obliged to hold this verification. |
| Contact & address | Permanent address and current address, including PIN code. | To match you with work near you and to meet operator onboarding requirements. |
| Professional profile | Skill set, designation, certifications, training progress and assessment results, availability and working hours, job history, ratings received. | To decide which jobs you are eligible for and to show your track record. |
| Location | Precise GPS location, captured when you check in and out of a job and while a job is in progress. A coarse home location derived from your address. | To prove attendance at a site, to show jobs near you, and for the SOS feature. We do not track your location when you are not on an active job. |
| Camera & media | Photographs and video you capture or upload: KYC documents, work-sample videos, job evidence photographs, quality-check and material-usage images, incident photographs. | To verify identity, to evidence completed work for payment, and to investigate safety incidents. |
| Financial | Bank account number and IFSC, or UPI ID; wallet balance, payout records and invoices. | To pay you for work you complete, and to keep the books of account the law requires. |
| Work activity | Job applications and assignments, check-in and check-out times, toolbox-talk acknowledgements, quality submissions, material entries, end-of-day reports, incident and SOS reports, insurance enrolment and claims. | To run the job, pay you correctly, and meet health-and-safety obligations. |
| Messages | Messages you exchange with coordinators and support through the app. | To coordinate work and to resolve disputes. |
| Device & technical | A device identifier generated by the app, device model and OS version, app version, push-notification token, IP address, and crash diagnostics. | To keep you signed in on a trusted device, to send you job notifications, and to diagnose crashes. |
We do not collect your contacts, your call logs, your SMS messages, or your browsing activity outside this app, and we do not use your data for advertising or sell it to anyone.
2. Permissions the app asks for
- Location — to record job check-in and check-out and to show nearby work. You can refuse, but you will not be able to check in to a job.
- Camera — to photograph KYC documents, capture a selfie, and record job evidence. Only used when you open a capture screen.
- Photos and files — to attach documents you have already saved on your device.
- Notifications — to alert you to job offers, approvals and payments.
Every permission can be withdrawn from your device settings at any time. Withdrawing one disables only the features that depend on it.
3. How we use it
- Creating and verifying your account, and signing you in by one-time password.
- Checking your KYC and approving you to work, including checking whether the same identity document has already been registered.
- Matching you to jobs, allocating crews, and tracking job progress.
- Calculating and making payments to you, and issuing invoices.
- Safety: toolbox talks, incident reporting, SOS alerts, and insurance.
- Sending you operational notifications about jobs, approvals and payments.
- Fraud and abuse prevention, including verifying that requests come from a genuine installation of this app.
- Meeting our legal, tax and contractual obligations.
We do not make decisions producing legal effects about you by automated means alone. Job matching ranks and suggests; a person approves your onboarding and your assignments.
4. Who we share it with
We share only what each recipient needs, and only for the purposes above.
| Recipient | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Telecom operators and contractors whose sites you work on | Your name, photograph, freelancer ID, verified-KYC status, skill set, and attendance for their site. | Site access control and proof of attendance. They are independent controllers of that data. |
| Google LLC (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Play Integrity, Maps) | Mobile number for OTP delivery; push token; crash diagnostics; device integrity signals; map queries. | Sign-in, notifications, crash reporting, anti-abuse and maps. |
| Amazon Web Services and Cloudinary | Uploaded documents, photographs and videos; all application data at rest. | Hosting and file storage. Data is held in India. |
| Razorpay | Payout details needed to transfer money to you. | Making payments. |
| Expo (EAS) | App version and update-channel information. | Delivering app updates. |
| Cal.com | Name and contact details when you book a skill assessment. | Scheduling assessments. |
| Insurers | Details you submit with an enrolment or a claim. | Providing the cover you asked for. |
| Government authorities | Whatever a valid legal order requires. | Legal compliance. |
Some of these providers operate outside India. Where data leaves India we rely on contractual protections with the provider. We never sell personal data, and we never share it with data brokers or advertisers.
5. How long we keep it
- Profile and KYC data — while your account is active, and for as long as an operator requires proof of who worked on their site.
- Location records — 24 months from the job they relate to.
- Financial records (payouts, invoices, wallet movements) — eight years, as required by section 128 of the Companies Act 2013.
- Everything else — deleted when you delete your account.
6. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time, from either:
- the app, at Account → Delete account; or
- the web form at /account-deletion, which needs no login.
We complete deletions within 30 days. Your identity, KYC documents, photographs, addresses, location history, device records and saved payment details are erased permanently. Financial records are kept for the statutory period described above, but are stripped of everything that identifies you and cannot be linked back to you. The deletion page sets out exactly what goes and what stays.
7. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
- correct anything inaccurate or incomplete;
- erase your data (see section 6);
- withdraw a consent you previously gave — this does not affect anything done before you withdrew it;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated.
Write to Telecomhireofficial@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
8. Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (TLS) and is encrypted at rest. Sign-in uses a one-time password sent to your mobile number — there is no password to steal. Sessions are bound to the device you signed in on, and you can end them from the app. Aadhaar numbers are never returned in full by our systems: they are shown masked, and stored alongside a one-way hash used only to detect duplicate registrations. Access to personal data inside the company is limited to staff who need it for their work.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
9. Children
Telecom Hire is for working adults. You must be 18 or over to register. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and will delete any such account we become aware of.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, notify you in the app before it takes effect.
